During The War of Continuation (1941-1944) between the Soviet Union and Finland Hotel Torni served as the headquarters of the German Wehrmacht. After The World War II it served as the headquarters of the Allied Control Commission which monitored Finnish compliance with the obligations of the Moscow Armistice. At that time it also was a centre of culinary excellence in Helsinki.

Today Hotel Torni is still one of the biggest hotels in Helsinki and has unique character and personality.
